**Please note that our building is closed to the public at this time. Due to the wet weather we have had in the last months our office premises have experienced, and continue to experience, significant flooding and other issues. To ensure the safety of our staff and our members, we have closed the building for repair and further assessment. We will continue to support our members remotely and through alternate means, and are in the process of securing suitable space to so that 1UP can continue to fully provide the important services to our members and the community. Members Market DayEvery Wednesday, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, members can drop by the Centre for some free food items. Thanks to COBS, we always have a variety of fresh bread. Mentoring & EducationThe MOMentum: Moms and Mentors Series matches isolated single mothers with experienced mothers for a year of mentorship, friendship and support. The moms, mentors and their children meet for coffee, play dates and lots of fun, and join other “matches” for monthly gatherings and workshops. Find out more
Our Parenting Education Program offers a wide range of parenting and life skills development courses and peer support groups to parents throughout the community. Our classes are scheduled from September to June. All of our courses are free, ensuring that financial hardship is not a barrier for parents wanting to register for courses. Dads with Dads is a weekly drop-in group that brings single parent fathers together for education, support and friendship. Fathers explore parenting skills, strategies for coping with separation from children, grief and loss, co-parenting, self-discovery, balance with social life, work and family, information on resources and advocacy.
